Statement: Italian Irons
ITALIAN IRONS STATEMENT :

Italian Irons, West Ham United official italian supporter club, announce that will no longer attend games played at London stadium as a group starting from the next home game against Accrington Stanley. For this reason no more flag or symbols of the Italian Irons will be displayed in the new stadium. It is not an easy decision, born some months ago and definitively matured after the recent home games. We had always doubts and skepticism about the moving from Upton Park to Stratford, but we were patient waiting to see the brand new stadium in person.

We did it by attending all home games played so far by the team, and we finally made the idea that the road taken by the club, in this so called "new era", not really reflect the meaning of what the West Ham United is. The people that have met us perfectly knows that we will always have the sense of belonging to the Boleyn Ground because of the shirt, the colors and the history of this club. After over 100 years your home will always be your home even after you move to a new building, that could be beautiful, luxurious, but inevitably without a soul. We criticize the choice of clubs about this moving because we realized that we left our home for going in a new one that we feel like something that is not ours. And this is the cause of the beginning of the troubles, because you’re acting like you're at your home but you're not and you have always to be reported by someone else than owns it. (as a matter of fact the stadium is not your property).

At Upton Park fans fell like they are real West Ham fans while in the London Stadium the only thing that they obtained so far is the permanent threat of the season ticket withdrawal just because they stood up during the match. And recently someone is just been banned from the stadium for this reason. We wonder if it’s right to blame all the West Ham supporters(real or not) for this kind of mess in the home games and finally we find an answer. For now the club doesn’t care about the supporters opinion, they asked 45£ for a non uk membership that only allows you to enter a ticket ballot for most of home games with no guarantee to buy a ticket and the have 20000 supporters in waiting list for a season ticket. So they don’t care to give 10 ban for game to people arguing with stewards, hired on outsourcing and unable to make the job properly, because they will always find the way to bring new supporters(?) inside the stadium.

We believe that the a change of direction by the club is really needed so they have to consider the introduction of standing sectors and family blocks. This problems are not present at the Boleyn but now there are and the club has to solve them without blaming the supporters remembering that the club is world famous because of them and without them WHU would be a normal club like many others. Of course there are also the “neutral” (called this way by Miss Brady), but do we really want this for our club? A stadium without soul full of people that act like they are in a cinema or in a theater during the weekend without caring about the match and the result?

We remark that we‘ll not attend home games until the club will change his strategies and all the real WHU supporters will be treated as they deserve to be treated and we could finally call ‘home’ the London stadium. We will be instead present at the away games every time we could like we just did this season in Chelsea, Slovenia and Manchester.

We thank you all for your support hoping for a better future for the club and his fans

Don't mention the war.

Saw this last week. Sad news but a sign of the times, you won't meet a more passionate group of West Ham supporters.

Another win for the OS.

You don't expect to move home or change job and then settle-in straight away. It doesn't happen like that. There are usually problems and obstacles.

Still, it's not unusual for Italians to overreact in melodramatic fashion and just give-up and surrender.

Blimey, that's harsh.

Re: STATEMENT: Italian Irons
Yeah, Brits don't fight. That's why we conquered 2/3 of the world and won two World Wars. We just sat still and did nothing.

There is nothing wrong with the infrastructure of the stadium, views etc. The problems are down to the team struggling on the pitch; shit stewards not having a clue; no adequate policing and our own wanker fans being intolerable with each other.

All of these issues can and will be resolved in time. Still, if you're melodramatic and impatient/stupid enough to just give-up now... Go for it - and don't come back.

I wouldn't travel to the Athletics bowl, if I lived in Italy either.

Fair play to them though. They gave valid reasons for their future absence from home matches and proved it isn't just knee jerking knicker wetting by confirming they'll still be at away games.

The club won't care though, it's just another opportunity for the club to dilute the support that WH has with the new breed and corporate support it aspires to have.

What a load of cry baby wankers

I didnt wanna leave school but I had to, as life changes. Deal with it

Re: STATEMENT: Italian Irons
The club won't care one iota about this as the stands will still be full.

The only thing they will worry about is all the aggro and fighting in the crowd between sitters/standees and stewards which is bad PR for them.

The only worry is what affects revenue streams and the public image of the club.

The 4th paragraph is completely spot on though.

Re: STATEMENT: Italian Irons
We've only played... What... Five games there?! Only two of them in the league.

If we'd have won all of our Home matches so far whilst playing fine football; melodramatic, knee-jerking surrender jobs like the Italian Hammers giving-up wouldn't have happened. Fact. That's how simple some people are.

Re: STATEMENT: Italian Irons
Bruno did you spend a fortune commuting from another country to leave school? And if you read it properly they are still going to away games.

Maybe you should have stayed in school a bit longer!

"Real West Ham supporters" Yeah OK

Re: STATEMENT: Italian Irons
Dicksie is right though. At the end of the day much of the discontent is just because the team has been so poor thus far. I reckon Accarington will fancy their chances to be frank.

They're real supporters, a little fucked off with things. They'll be back when we get back to successful ways. Hopefully with a bit of humility and grace, and we'll welcome them back to the west ham family.
